Regulated CATs for the 2CV

We have had a regulated catalytic converter developed for the 2CV, in which so-called ‘controlled air inleakage’ is used as the regulator.

That means that the engine runs too rich.  The lambda probe then measures the mixture and determines that the petrol ratio is too high… Via a regulator valve, fresh air is now added to it until the petrol-to-air mix reaches the ideal lambda level 1.  It works wonderfully well.  And unlike with modern cars, it’s not therefore the amount of petrol that is regulated, but the amount of air!

All of the electronic components are mass production parts and have long since proved their durability.

All 2CV 6 models and VISA 652s are suitable for converting.

We have driven numerous test runs and found no loss of performance! Fuel consumption improves very slightly. In the partial load operating range it is possible to determine a somewhat better transfer of power.

Regulated catalytic converter package:
1 x Lambda probe with appropriate base
2 x Feeder neck with hose for fresh air
1 x Fresh air regulator valve
1 x Control unit
1 x Appropriate wiring harness, ready to plug in
1 x New front exhaust silencer
2 x High-performance mini catalytic converters to plug into the front exhaust silencer
Fitting instructions

If the front exhaust silencer subsequently becomes rusted through, you can get a new one from us without CATs.  The CATs can then simply be plugged into the new silencer. This costs around €55,00.

Naturally, we also stock all other regulated catalytic converter components as spares.
